lsd stands for long slow distance.

it is one of those essential terms used in sports.

together with fartlek and interval training this word forms the essence of global running knowledge.

it is not easy to come up with a word.

i have been on joe henderson’s running commentary list for maybe 6-7 years now.

once we exchanged few emails, maybe 5 years ago.

i will email him again now.

nic roope is a great guy.

i have not spent much time with him, he lives in london, i live in belgrade.

there is this country where i was born.

my parents have this country’s passport and so do i.

this country requires us to give a little bit of what we make so it makes sure we are safe, healthy and we can do things normally.

normally being a very broad term, but we do have water, heating, roads, schools, media and other stuff.

in reality difference between this country (serbia) and whatever is considered the best possible country are little.

of course devil is in detail but most of the things are present and within 99% of best quality.

then there is this other country that i exist in.

actually, not a country but a universe.

internet.

no one there asks me for any taxes but i do end up paying constant fees.

i just calculated i own 127 domain names which cost me 1292 euros each year.

i also pay for several other services like flickr.com and bluehost.com.

plus i pay a person to help me with all of this additional 250 euro a year.

all in all I seem to pay more online fees than i pay taxes.

strange!

most of these fees, i think, end up in countries like usa and germany.

luckily i am not a typical citizen of serbia?

i pay almost half of serbia’s gni to foreign online service providers

of course they are part of my work and these investments allow me to make much more.

if i was not making much more i would not exist very long.

however, what i do notice is that year by year i am more efficient.

as i am just starting to learn some things, i am very excited about what will happen for me in next decade.

i was checking my domain names list, some interesting ones there.

recently i managed to buy two single english words as .com.

to find this in 2010 is quite remarkable.

i own anatopism.com and parachronism.com.

very interesting words, i like them a lot.

i also own abrahamzapruder.com.

abraham zapruder is the guy who made the controversial video of kennedy’s assassination.

the name sounds wonderful and it was repeated many times in stone’s film jfk.

i had to have it.

also pioneerplaque.com – the nasa project sent into deep space.

agenzia is agency in italian.

pljeskavica is the most popular fast food dish in serbia and croatia, sort of like owning hamburger.com.

is a simple rule of business is to keep investing and pray to god nothing bad happens or no one asks questions.

governments are simply businesses and usually quite badly managed.

first governments do not have the luxury of simplicity like businesses.

governments do a lot of things and everybody wants something from them.

businesses sell simple stuff like bread or nails and most of the time no one cares about them.

also governments mostly pay their people badly and it takes ages to become visible (vanity factor).

then it is not a surprise if governments end up with mostly quite bad management.

so should it be a surprise that even some of the biggest governments are in a mess?

this really should not be a surprise.

this is obvious reality, and how things are run.

there is no drama, there is no shock.

if you are surprised than you have been living in an illusion.

beautiful truth about individual’s life in general – and economical life – is that it is a constant messy struggle.

you can hate it and therefore hate your existence and always be annoyed by every breath you take.

or you can love the mess and take it as natural and try to enjoy it.

today i spontaneously decided to clean my apartment.

after few hours i discovered amazing things.

- maybe 200-300 cotton t-shirts! this is for real. i have hundreds of t-shirts of which most i never wore. mostly bought by my parents on their travels. think of parents who wish to communicate to their child but due to serbian mentality can not really talk to do stuff together so they spend a decade compulsively buy t-shirt.

- several sets of flippers!

- three computers! not including the two martina and i use. i have a computer from 20 years ago, from 10 years ago and from 5 years ago. i also have a bunch of stuff for these computers, none of which works with usbs. those small cute plastic floppies!

- literally at least 10.000 euro worth of designer clothing. i never realized i spent so much on designer clothing. this is amazing! i am amazed! i am sure few managers at d&g and armani survived for few years on my shopping alone. if you work in d&g and armani send me a “thank you” card.

- more than 10 pairs of running shoes including a whole history of asics ds trainer. i could open a museum.

- a lot of heart rate monitor straps!

- all business cards i ever made for myself starting late 90s until recently. in 1000s. business card printing is cheap in serbia!

- fireworks!

- a tiny christmas tree!

- boxing gloves, groin and tooth protectors.

- a synthesizer. 80s!

and much much more…

i am amazed that so much stuff was hidden.

my apartment seemed quite empty.

suddenly i discovered about a ton of stuff i have not used since i was in puberty.

unfortunately i did not discover what i need the most – pirate treasure.

but who knows, few more hours of digging and i might end up finding aliens, pirates and holy grail.

i was ready to sleep when i discovered danish branding speaker and author martin lindstrom.

i visited his bugged website.

on one side it played videos i could not control, on other video i wanted to view.

took me maybe 5 mins to figure out how to view one video without being annoyed by the other.

do not ask why i was so motivated.

i just get super annoyed by these guys.

there is a new guy every week.

anyway, martin is selling some kind of a pseudoscience on advertising, branding, whatnot.

he used every single cliche buzzword available mixing it with some early 20th century “science”.

martin lindstrom is a speaker.

speakers speak, they do not do.

there are those who do practice “neuromarketing” who all sound like bullshit to me.

any form of commercial biomonitoring sounds like bullshit.

it i 1am and i am annoyed by some website.

i really need to reconsider my behavior.

steven spielberg made some good movies.

not great but good.

he is a good businessman for sure.

he earned a place in a place where you give directors place when they are important.

then came michael bay.

an absolute worst ever.

for all the time he has been making movies… finally this year he learned how to keep a shot for more than 3 secs.

therefore i am able to watch his movies longer than few mins without a head ache.

problem with michael bay movies is that there are so many product placements i can not remember which one to buy after.

too much for me to remember.

one thing about michael bay – he is the guy who made the most money in hollywood past year.

he must do something right. he used to make detergent ads or something. he tapped in the mind of the masses.

steven spielberg put hi reputation on line and decided to produce michael bay’s transformers.

mcdonald’s is not evil.

it is just a company.

companies follow regulation.

if you do not like what mcdonald’s – or any other company does – check out who sets regulation.

it is government.

government lets tobacco make cigarettes, it lets mcdonald’s use same oil for french fries for a week, lets your kids go to war for some idiotic dispute, etc

this is the point of democracy. it is up to you to decide what is good.

if you vote and complain then government will react (if democracy functions).

problem is most people do not participate in democracy but end up blogging and bitching.

you are the one setting the regulation for mcdonald’s.

if you want more salads than fight for it through a democratic system.

maybe you will realize that mcdonald’s does what most people want and you are a minority.

this is the unpleasant truth.

most people are not as enlightened as you and most people love mcdonald’s.

mcdonald’s does not force itself, it simple does what people want and what regulation allows.

regulation again does what people want – if you live in a democracy.

so who is to blame?
