the head is so small and the body is so fat and teeth are so big.

i woke up yesterday and saw that sunday will be rainy. made a quick decision to just pack in 20mins, go to the supermarket, buy a lot of coke and candy, and just go to the track and do the run.

i started at 8:30 and finished 11 hours 48 minutes later.

i was in pain after 15km already. problems i had during the run are simply because i am just totally untrained.

the whole attempt is extremely stupid when it comes to running, but it was a personal thing and just wanted to do it.

what is most important is that we raised some 500 eur pavle which means a lot to his family (you can still donate).

i wish to thank everybody who donated money and everybody who helped me and kept me company yesterday.

i finished the last lap running with my girlfriend martina.

it was a special personal experience to do something as senseless as this.

ps i am aware this result is insignificant. i have met people like bruce fordyce and vladimir kotov in past years and i know what a real ultrarunner is about. i also know what i was able to do when i was fit. this result is simply a joke and a monument to laziness to train. however, for my friends who are competitive athletes, try to see this run as not an athletic attempt but a personal experience which has nothing to do with sports. this 100km run has nothing to do with ultrarunning, has nothing to do with sports. only by accident it is based on running which also is part of sports. hope this is makes sense.

i have spent last 12 years under the magic of the lord of the rings and i do not regret it.

can not wait for the hobbit.

running

i wanted to do a 100km run this year. i wanted to see if i care about this distance enough to invest more time in training for it in 2012 and 2013. i started the year well with some consistent training over the winter, i did some nice races and even placed 4th at danish 50km champs with a nice average of 4:32/km. it was a good test of my form. after i did some nice workouts which showed even more improvement (i am always proud of 10 x 1000 @ 3:36 with 90sec rest i did a month or so after the danish race). but travel, work and lack of focus put me in a place where i could not run 10km under 40min a month ago and with extra 2kg in my ass. and even worst – i did not find proper chance to run a 100km and year has almost ended.

with only few days to go until the year ends, i have decided to do a really stupid thing – try to run a 100km alone on a local track this weekend. reason is simple: i do not enjoy sports without focus and i can not have focus unless i have something worth fighting for, something i can be relatively good at. if this stupid 100km attempt gives me that fire to focus on a sports goal in next few years, it will be worth it. without passion for a distance i feel empty and as if my time is wasted. this 100km run is my search for new passion, after triathlon.

am i ready to run it? no. i did a test this sunday – 20km alone on track at 5:20/km. for me it is not a problem to maintain this pace for 100km, but my tendons have weakened in last months and i already felt some tension towards the last 30mins. this tension will drastically increase after 50 or 60km of running. i have no problems with motivation or fitness, but i am weak and heavy and my back, knees and feet will take the battering. also my metabolism is untrained. but i know my weaknesses and that is half of a solution.

if you can come over to partizan track on sunday morning, or noon, or afternoon, or evening to support me it would be awesome. i will be doing my 210 laps from 8am until around 6pm. bring some coke, water, candy, bananas, salt, good music and jokes. run with me for few laps and i will be happy. you can also send me an sms at +381 63 268906 or post on my facebook wall.

my parents are alive, healthy and are laughing at jokes.

my girlfriend is still great looking and i love her a lot every day.

i have not fucked up any friendships that i can not fix with one phone call.

my partners are just awesome.

i work with people who really care about every little detail they do.

i work for people for whom, in spite of our ever lasting arguments about trivialities, i am happy if they succeed and proud to be part of their path.

i owe nothing, i own everything i need.

i have enough cash to buy that weird designed jacket any time i want, but not enough cash that i have to work on it.

i am not in the best shape of my life but i am around 5-10% of my personal bests which is quite good.

i still have decent amount of hair on my head, my front teeth are more or less fine, i do not have hair on my back and i still manage a sick pack.

if i diet for two weeks i will look good enough for any beach.

i am almost perfectly healthy and that will probably not change.

i make a living doing exactly the things i have always wanted to do and loved doing.

i enjoy writing poetry and i occasionally do art… people tell me they like it and it makes them feel good, which is great.

i coach people in sports and they progress and enjoy it, it makes their life better and i get to see that quite clearly.

i am not particularly successful in business but i am enjoying the relative success i have, and it is more than i ever expected.

what else?

i think that is it, i am doing quite well in spite of world crisis, aging, diseases, human condition and political instabilities.

i could do with kids and few more details, but i am doing fine.

it is based on my meeting with a friend yesterday on the airport.

as he exited the customs and asked me how i was.

i started a 20min confused rant about how my left ball hurts and how i had urinary infections twice, some 8 and 4 years ago, due to swimming in cold pools.

i think he expected me to say something along the lines of: i am fine, how are you.

to make a short story long, we ended up with a good socially awkward penguin meme.
