managers love to meet and discuss things in person.
i believe most of these meetings are held because of emotional needs, not business and operational needs.
this is a need to establish hierarchy, authority, and dominance through physical presence and an exchange of sounds and gestures.
i doubt the effectiveness of corporate cultures which are based on meetings.
i trust people who deliver establish authority by delivering detailed documentation for years.
if you are a manager i advise you not to motivate performance in meetings, but performance outside meetings.
